- One Day coming Spring 2006!!

Things
are coming along just fine. We have art,
music, engineering, and management, now
we just need production! Quasar wrote the
music, Kourosh did the most wonderful art,
The
Mistress of Evil (M.o.E) have picked
up the album and are releasing it on their
label!!! (Many thanks to M.o.E!!, muhahaha),
and Chromatone did the final mastering (Beam
me up, Scotty!). Now we are listening that
everything is OK and all the artwork looks
OK and all of those millions of little details
to flesh out. But we are OK! Better than
OK, we are very excited about this release.
There has been much anticipation about the
CD, and for good purpose. In the words of
Dylalien:
"...This
album raises the bar for psychedelic trance...."

Oct 30, 2005 - The octagon
is a paragon!
So here we are again.
Finished with the album writing process, now what? A new web site,
for one thing. And...
After
about 8000 listens, I am almost finished with the Mixdown phase
of the album. It is always good to let the album sink in for a week
or so before beginning the final mixdown. Well, almost final mixdown!
There is still conference with the mastering engineer. I hope I
got all of the sounds in the ballpark, but a professional engineer
and better monitors may bring out some glaring changes. Only time
will tell.
More information
to come...

Oct 21, 2005 - The album
writing process is complete!
The next step is the MIXDOWN
stage. This is where the final nips and tucks happen, that is, any
final changes before it gets mastered. For example, too much bass
in this song. Lead not loud enough in this part. Drums too loud in
this song. Etc...
Also, now begins the label
locator phase as well. This is where we find the appropriate label
for the album.
This is a
short entry, but I'll fill you in more next week! The mixdown phase
can last a while, but I'm trying to finish in a week (or so).
Due to the
increased interstellar debris, I have been unable to update this blog
until now. No worries, the time has been filled with much music-making
and merriment! In fact, I am putting the finishing touches on the album
now. It should be complete by the middle of October 2005, just two weeks
away!
The name of
the album, after much deliberation, will be.
The album itself is based
on a short story that I wrote. The name of the story is, oddly enough,
"One Day."
The music itself is, then,
a weave of sounds, adapted from the short story. You can read along
as the album plays, and a story unfolds. Actually, several stories,
on different levels. Each song carries its own story in sound. Each
trance journey is complete in and of itself. Then you have "level
2," where the songs come together to form tracks on a CD. When
the CD is played, it is a seam-less storyline of samples and sounds.
Then on another level, you have the short story by itself, which is
a complete story. Then, finally, you have the "full picture"
(or is it?) of the song and story together, working synergistically
to weave a tapestry of symbolism and meaning.
I will definitely
be updating this blog more as the time progresses. After writing the
album, I will have more time to keep this story moving and evolving
here in words, as it moves and evolves in and out of cyberspace! If
I have some trouble keeping up, you know why... Interstellar Space Debris!
(and X-rays from Xenon-Five!)

Sept. 27, 2005 - Welcome
to the quasar section of the blogsphere!
This is the first entry.
I have been working on the album since May 2005, Terran-time. I woke
up one morning, and a voice spoke to me, "Quasar, it is time
to start the Album..."
It wasn't one of those
big, boomy, alph-male voices that you hear in the movies. No, this
voice was definitely a Woman, and a very sexy one at that. (well,
at least the voice was sexy!)
So I took
my Hyper-space Cruiser out of Auto-Fuck, and began my decent into the
quantum space-time continuum in which you find yourself now.
I decided
to do a concept album,
a'la Pink Floyd, the Who, Beethoven, you get the picture... Kinda like
"The Wall," but more like "Breaking through the Fucking
Wall and Being So Fucking Happy You Dance Your Ass Off!"
The concept
for this album is Realization, Transformation,
Revival!
The "other" concept
is that each Trance Track is a complete concept in itself, that is,
you can play any of these tracks in a DJ set and make it fit. It's
called Multi-Dimensional!
The story is about someone
named Charlie. This slang on Mars, which means "humanoid biot."
That is, a Charlie is a male or a female, sometimes referred to as
Charlene. This means YOU!
The CD is divided
into three "books."
Book I - The
Walk-In - is a kind of sound tutorial. It is presented
to help the listener understand the predicament we are currently enveloped
in. Many concepts are introduced along with the storyline of Charlie.
These concepts are metaphysical and are meant to activate and then
short-circuit your preconceived notions about, well, everything! (I
was a philosopher in another time-space continuum).
Book 2 - The
Transformation - is where our hero(ine) is transformed
through the neurosomatic rapture of the fifth circuit. This is Dhyana
in Sanskrit. Or Zen in Japan. In the West, it is known as the "ego-death,"
which can be unpleasant at the beginning, because, well, the ego is
dying. But afterwards, the experience of ego-loss is realized, and
one is able to see through the dominance-submission hierarchies of
their human-primate brothers. In fact, dualism is no longer existing,
and the adept is now experiencing a "one-ness with everything,
an ecstasy" This can also happen through dancing to trance music!
--[do you remember?]--
Book C - The
Revival - is a multi-headed Octopussy from Betelgeuse.
It is about turning the inside out. That is, the Revival of spirit,
magic, love, one-ness, and all those things. Now you know, what you
gonna do about it??? It is also an analogy of the sixth circuit which
is called the MegaProgramming circuit by Leary/Wilson and Samadhi
in system of the Hindus. At the end is a little track called The Eschaton,
which is, well... you might want to look that one up yourself....
Ok, that is
all for now. The Hyperspace Cruiser in which I am traveling is reaching
the outskirts of your solar system now. That means, the album should
be on Terra and ready for you to hear by January 2006.
Bom Appetite!
